yes the products listed by oliver will work....what might be more readily available 
is a 3m product called "tar, wax and silicone remover" which contains essentially 
the same ingredients and is sold at most automotive supply stores, auto paint 
stores and even wally world. 
and as he advises wear nitrile gloves and maximize the ventilation or take a 
drawer or door outside and try it. keep changing the cloth to an unused area and 
apply liberally wait 1 minute and remove the excess with a clean dry cotton cloth. 
it will dissolve and pull most of the wax and oils out. 
 
you will need to refinish afterwards but at least you can get the oil and beeswax 
off and it sounds like the original finish was too thin anyway.
 
i like the sound of the sherwin williams product oliver mentioned as a new finish 
for the wood work......i many give it a try next year.
