Re: [A/S] Re: Hickory Interior

hello jack and others

3 months ago, i looked at a 1.5 yr old unit with the limited upgrade. while i
agree the factory finish should offer adequate protection, that assumes the finish
is adequate....the used unit i saw at the dealer had many large areas (mostly on
the doors) where there appeared to be little or no finish at all. all of the
kitchen cabinets showed signs of absorbing water along the upper edges and along
the inlay panels. now either the owner had removed the finish somehow or whoever
sprayed it skimped big time....either way there was lots of bare wood and it was
uniform in a way that suggested it was just too thinly applied....

so i wonder how often has anyone had to redo the wood and does the factory have a
specific product? how durable is the wood finish.....they probably use the same
product or oak or hickory?

cheers
