Well, as I'm sure you know all of the wiring runs through the center 
panel section of the ceiling. I believe this is called the sky dome 
or something similar. Just as in commercial aircraft this makes 
absolescence impossible. I don't think you'll be able to tie to the 
end of the old wire as I'm fairly certain it's fastened to the 
structure in some manner. Being that I haven't tackled this in my 
unit yet, I'm not of much help there, although your logic in 
placement and equipment is quite soulnd and well thought out. The 
only person I know of that has tackled this so far is Rich Luhr of 
Airstreamlife Magazine. He's an easy guy to get intouch with and 
would be more than happy to give any suggestions he can. Please keep 
us posted as to your progress since I'm sure that you're not the 
only person contemplating this type of overhaul.
