Dave, The previous owner of my 1989 Excella cut a piece of frosted plexiglass to cover the door glass. It fit between the inner door panel and the glass. It goes about 3/4 ways up the glass leaving an opening at the top to peek out. It lets light in and offers privacy too. Our shade is still in the door, but is not used. Ben
