[A/S] front sofa help!
I purchased a 1978 Tradewind trailer last fall and was given parts from the
front sofa that the PO had removed. I have a 1978 Sovereign and have
recovered the front and side sofas.
The parts are like putting together a jig saw puzzle! They are not from a
1978 trailer! I have talked to the factory and they have sent prints of 1977 &
1979 sofas which are similar to the 1978 in my sovereign.
I need to determine what year trailer this sofa came from and get a parts
sheet!
The front base has the tambours with pan for the plastic storage tray, the
rear is a aluminum bracket that goes across the front and has two brackets
that attach to front wall and wood supports to floor, their are four curved
aluminum brackets with an aluminum angle piece going across these four angles
that support U channels connected to front of base and the angle iron in rear.
In these U channels are pieces of tubing that the plywood is fastened too and
it appears the plywood was hinged together and back of sofa attached to and
slid forward and down when front of sofa was pulled out.
I have two brackets 10.5" long with hinges at each end that look like they
go from rear bracket to rear vertical support. However one bracket has a heavy
aluminum piece that looks like it would go to wall. No holes on wall for
this bracket.
I recall someone writing recently about their front sofa that had the side
to front on an angle towards the center. It appears that this sofa will not
allow the rear of sofa to lie flat. The plywood is mounted to four brackets
which slide in the U channels.
Can any one point me to the year of this style sofa? Anyone have a manual
which shows how the brackets are placed?
Thanks
Paul
