I suppose if I reasearched but common sense tells me not to tow a 10,000# 
trailer with a car rated to tow less than half that weight... not to mention it 
may well be illegal to do so in some places.

I did hear of a guy in TN getting a ticket for towing a horse trailer alot 
too heavy for his tow truck.

The thing is, as we know, you can tow an Airstream with a bicycle.... but 
would you?  Are there any actual data- accident reports, comparison studies or 
statistics that tell you about towing with a bicycle or do you just sort of know 
instinctively that it's a bad idea?

If you're going to get out on the freeway, with 18 wheelers running past you 
at 80 mph you better be sure your tow vehicle has a big footprint for 
stability......  

You are welcome to tow with anything you want, but I don't want new people 
coming to this list for advice and getting bad advice...   Suggesting cars, with 
low tow ratings, can tow 34' trailers safely is not advice I want here. 
That's my position on it.
