I would have to agree with Don on the 1500 Suburban.
We have one a 4X4 model and love it. It's my wife's daily driver too.
It gets a lot better mileage than my truck does around town which is a plus.
Towing with it is great too, we go to the beaches in Fl, and the mountains 
in N Georgia a lot and no complaints from me as far as handling or anything. 
This summer we are going to Yellowstone N.P. so after that trip (July) I'll be 
able to tell you how it does in the big mountains.
