just pulled my 19' bambi to dallas, tx from socal and my trip 
computer indicated i got 17.1 miles per gallon by the time i reached 
dallas. of course i kept my foot out of it and kept to the speed 
limit. the trip home i had averaged 16.1 mpg. i must have had head 
winds.

bobtail going the speed limit on the free way i can get 24 mpg. it 
should be noted that i do have a camper shell and always run the 
speed limit. also if one computes the numbers manually and not with 
the trip computer you will find that the fuel mpg will be better.

i drive a 2001 dodge cummins with a 4" exhaust and no other mods. i 
will put a chip in post engine warranty at 100k. currently i only 
have 58k on the cummins.
