I have read all the posts about oil changing and the virtue of synthetic over 
petroleum products. I have driven diesel cars and trucks since 1965 I have 
owned 7 diesels I have never had an engine failure due to lubrication most of 
these  had 200K-300K miles when I got rid of them I only had one that burnt any 
oil at that time.I used Kindall DSJ oil in all of them I change every 
3000-5000 miles.Oh yes I normally use FRAM filters.I wonder what is to be gained with 
the synthetic oils.But what do I know
