[A/S] RE: "Sales Tax"



States get around the U.S. Constitution prohibited tax between states by
calling the Sales Tax a "Use Tax" -  a tax for the privilege of using a
product within their state, regardless of where it came from.  They can't
police most items brought in from elsewhere, but can do so on items which
much be "registered" in the state, hence the enforcement through the DMV.
