[A/S] RE:Draperies and damage from UV light

Better quality lined draperies are usually (design permitting) lined with a
special lining fabric (it used to be called Millium after the manufacturer)
which has a ligh (or heavy) aluminized side which is designed to minimize
the transmission of ultraviolet light and also provide some thermal
insulation.  A heavyweight version will completely black out light, so you
can darken a room by closing the drapes.

Needless to say, the Millium lining extends the life of the drapes
substantially.

Interestingly, Mr. Ambruso offers both linings for his line of custom made
Airstream drapes.
