[A/S] Re: RE:Aluminum Wheels

The Airstream Company sell the Aluminum wheel for $300.62. The part
number is 157111 for the 5 leg star pattern. It is the same one still
used on some models of the Classic. I bought 6 of them from the
factory before finding the following place.I know Andy says to use
wheels rated at 2600lbs or more, but the ones I bought from the
factory as well as from the new place both say 2200 lbs on them. I do
have pics of them, however, I only joined a few minutes ago, and do
not yet know how to post pics.
The Airstream Alcoa Wheels wheels can be ordered from:
SOUTHWEST WHEEL CO.
8740 JOHN W CARPENTER FREEWAY
DALLAS TX. 75247-4626

PHONE 214-631-4626 salesman was Larry I think
I gave the above information to a friend of mine, and he wrote back
the following:
I indicated that I needed wheels for a 2001 Airstream Classic and gave
him the part number #157111. I told him that according to their
website about Alcoa wheels it appeared to me that I needed the LTS-5
type.[I believe that the -5 indicates that it is a 5 spoke] IN any
case the wheels that were sent to me have 157111 stamped on them and
they are identical to the ones on my trailer! They are rated at 2200
lbs ea. I guess Airstream thinks that is enough for their trailers, I
hope so. Southwest wheel part #'s for the wheels, lugs and caps are:
MT 157111 15X7 AIRSTREAM LTS 6-5.5"BC $137.74 EA.
AA 005120 1/2" -20 60DEG NUT 7/8"HEX 0.98 EA.
AA 000078 CHROME NUT COVER F/ 7/8" HEX 1.16 EA.
AA 005167 HUB CAP 4.25" BORE 5 & 6 HOLE 12.22 EA

Hope this helps,
