I put a spare tire carrier and tire on the rear bumper of my 1965 Streamline 
and the bumper cracked from the up and down motion.  I ended up having to 
replace the bumper.  I wouldn't recommend that anything be hung on a rear 
bumper.

I suspect that you will find that whenever these other brands had provision 
for a box or spare tire that the weight was being carried by the frame, not 
the rear bumper.  It looks to be that way in the picture provided in the 
link.
