[A/S] storage cabinet falling off the wall/ceiling

Given - 1976.5 Sovereign

locker above the sink (curbside behind teh door). which is above the furnace.

I presently have this propped up with a couple of short lengths of white 2" or
less, pvc pipe. the cabinet is ripping away from the wall attachment. if this
were a 1960s or earlier, it would be tied into a full length end piece of 1/4"
plywood to which the magazine rack would be attached and which would be screwed
into the counter end and teh lower cabinet face.
I am seriously considering repairing it in exactly that manner,,, ie, screwing
the end of the cabinet into the plywood and using a piece of attachment aluminum
to the wall. then dress the edge with still another.

iow, you all would recognize this from a mid or late 60s road or curb side end
wall facing the front gaucho, etc.

any other suggestions??

cheers
