RE: [A/S] Hensley - receiver height & bar drop

Hi John,

I tow a 34' Limited Airstream TT with a 2004 GMC Sierra 2500 HD Crew Cab
with the Short Box 4X4 Duramax / Allison. The BOTTOM of the HOLE of the
Square Receiver is 17" off the garage floor. I use a 4" Drop bar in my
Hensley. My trailer is level to within 1/4" from end to end when it is
hooked up and setting in my dead level driveway.
I used the same 4" drop bar on a 2000 GMC Sierra 2500 Extended Cab 2X4 with
the short box and the 6.0 Liter Gas Engine with the same results. The bottom
of the square receiver was 18" on that truck, but it dropped down 1" more
than the 2004 truck does when the trailer weight is put on the hitch, so it
came out level also setting in the level driveway.
I have a Brother in Law that has a 34' Airstream also that he pulls with a
2003 Chevy 2500 HD short bed 4X4 and uses a 4" drop bar on his Hensley. I
have not measured his rig on a level paved surface, but it looks level going
down the road.
