Amen brother, preach on.

I've found a number of BB Cad sites and suppliers: Cadforums, CowboySeven,
MTS, Flash, etc. Also found a number of interesting things - a 500 is just
a stroked 472, only crank and pistons are diff. Also a number of people
have replaced 454 BBC's with 500's for towing and picked up 3 or 4 mpg or
more over the Chev engine, along with more power. Most interesting is that
when a pre '71 high compression engine is dyno'd against a '71 plus low
compression engine, there are only a few percentage points of difference in
the hp and torque. Most of the "horsepower loss" is in the way it was
measured. 
My Cad may not make pure sleeper class since it is a limo, but it has the
wheelbase, weight and torque of many 3/4 ton trucks.
