My two cents:

I tow my 34' S/O with our '02 F250 PSD 7.3L.  It is a
lwb with the crew cab, and it pulls the 34 like it
wasn't' there.  There is a noise element though.  With
the windows up it is noticeable, but not intrusive.

My wife drives a Nissan Maxima.  We just returned from
a trip to Houston in the Maxima.  A very noiseless
trip.  I never once heard the engine, except the one
time I engaged the passing gear to zip around a slow
poke.

This morning it was pouring down rain, and we had to
go somewhere.  Did we take the Maxima?  No way!  My
wife told me we're going in the truck.

It's like living next to a railroad track.  After a
few weeks you reply to guests - what train.
