Definitely YES!!!

Lead Acid type storage batteries should be kept on a maintenance charger 
otherwise they may suffer terminal decomposition.

Depending on the size and number of the batteries a small charger and a 
timer and periodic monitoring works, I use a 2-4 AMP cheap charger for two 
type 30 deep cycle batteries, better yet would be to buy a automatic 
maintenance charger, Sears, Cabela's or any good Marine/boating supplier 
will have these. A couple of MFG'r that come to mind is Newmar and Guest.
