Renee - Are you familiar with off gassing?  Depending on many things - this 
might be part of your problem.

Was your unit in storage and closed up for a long time prior to your 
purchase.  While your unit is no longer brand new - by chance was any carpet 
or other petroleum based material replaced recently?  Are any blinds or 
curtains petroleum based?

Any way to check with a prior owner to find out if any major cleaning 
process was done to it - say because of someone or something getting the 
carpet dirty?  It could be - since the subflooring in the trailer is wood - 
that it might have absorbed something in the process.

Have you ever come across a car with a vinyl interior -that has been parked 
in the sun for a long - long - time with it's windows up - and the windows 
were covered with a film?  That's from the interior off gassing.

There are pros and cons to air ionizers - but it's something to consider.

Something else to consider depending on where a smell is located - coffee 
grounds....yes..."new" not used coffee grounds.  I learned that years ago in 
my old car hobby - having to do with mouse urine.

I don't know how it would work with a large space...but I had an owner's 
manual in a glovebox "attacked" by a mouse...and I took the owners manual 
and put it in a plastic bag and filled it with unused coffee grounds - right 
out of the can - and left it for a long time....and it took care of the 
smell.  I have always kept this process in the back of my mind if I ever had 
to deal with a carpet/upholstery problem that could not be fixed otherwise.

Also - check out the holding tank situation - if it was in storage for a 
long - long time...depending on what was used to eliminate odors in it....it 
might be part of the problem.  Also check to make sure any vents in the 
trailer are not blocked.

Holding tank management and odors:  a really subjective topic.  Depends a 
lot on an individuals nose.  I have a really sensitive nose probably due to 
my allerigies - so I can not  tolerate any off-the-shelf "deodorizers".  I 
lived on my boat for a number of years - and had to deal with the holding 
tank/odor scenario.  I lived in a marina with a pump-out cart and I used 
that regularly - and periodically I used a floating sanitation service that 
came to my boat - just like a garbage truck.  I found that a natural enzyme 
based product took total care of my holding tank between services - and I 
did not even know it was there.
