I did the wood laminate floor in my 31' 1979. I took the couch, the bed,  the 
toilet , and carefully removed all the staples. I used a thicker and denser  
pad under the floor for better insulation and comfort. The results were great. 
 Much easier to keep clean and it looks much better to me than carpet.
