[A/S] Auxillary holding tank

Hi all,
We just spent our first weekend in our first Airstream at the Ventura Higland Games.
Everything went very well with only one small glitch.  The aux holding tank seemed to 
fill quickly even though we made a conscious effort to be brief with the water usage.
Can anyone give a tip on how better to manage the aux tank?  I did sneak a little 
water out to partially drain the system ( not the black water) when no one was 
looking.
Also, we dicided during our stay ( dry camping) to get a honda generator.  We got an 
eu2000 which worked great after I remembered to open the fuel tank vent during 
operation.  I was surprised it even powered the roof air on our 82 Excella, I think the 
little generator was near it's limit though.
