[A/S] Power for LP gas detector

I'm in the process of reconditioning the furnace in my '79 
International.  In the interest of safety I thought I'd bring the 
trailer "up to code" by installing LP gas, CO, and smoke detectors.

All of these are available as self contained battery units, except 
for the LP detector which must be hard wired into the on-board 12 
volt system.  I understand that is done to monitor low voltage which 
could cause improper operation of the furnace or fridge.

The only place to mount this detector in a 31' center bath seems to 
be on the wall between the bath and the galley counter.  It's a 
hollow wall for the gray tank vent stack, so perfect for flush 
mounting and concealing the wiring.  Really the only place you can 
put it 5" off the floor where there is any space on the wall.

Right now I plan to power it up by tapping into the power for the 
oven light, since the furnace is still removed at this point and the 
wiring to the stove is clearly accessible.

Just wondered if anyone had a better idea as for a place to tie in 
the power?  I don't want to tie into the furnace power source, and 
there is no other exposed wiring below the galley or bathroom counter 
tops.
