Antivirus software and firewalls have two distinct
purposes. The key to a firewall is that it keeps
unsolicited access to your computer. In other words
it keeps those outside from getting into your
computer. It does not however protect from virus'.
That's why these are two separate products.
The other issue is security of your wireless
transmission which neither of these products
addresses. In this case the wireless access point
servicing the area must use encryption and your
wireless card must do the same. Most wireless sites
do not run with encryption so any transmissions are
subject to interception.
