Re what to pack
It took us a couple of years to decide that we didn't need everything we
took. We found we brought along a lot of stuff we didn't even touch most of
the time. So now we do it by laundry bag capacity. Only take enough stuff to
fill up one laundry bag each + one outfit. That way you got something to
wear to the Laundromat while you wash your bag full. The other thing to
remember is that as you're moving about, you won't see most people more than
a couple of days. So do they know that you wore that shirt two days ago.
No......Additional to that is something for warmth and something for rain.
Need an old pair of shoes for gunjing around and another pair for what ever.
Unless you want your Airstream Lifestyle to reflect your life at the office
or church, you can just go simple.
Re food and cooking utensils. Again, I love poking around local fruit
stands, butchers, bakeries in small towns. So we only buy a couple of days
supply at a time. We also have a "what if" cupboard so we can have supplies
if we're unable to shop for some reason. We don't use city water to drink,
just to wash as we find it upsets us as we switch from place to place. More
importantly, it upsets :His Royal Majesty the Golden Retriever. Not a pretty
site. You only need enough cutlery and dishes for one day's activity and
because you are trailering, you only have to do dishes once a day!
Keep it simple. The less "stuff" you have , the less time you spend
wrestling with the stuff.
