    The reason I replaced them in the first place was they were cracked.
The reason I switched the plexiglas one to Lexan was the plexiglas was only 
sealed down but did stay that way for several years and I needed to fix another 
one.
I think now that they are all Lexan ones and have a couple of rivets in them, 
they will last quite some time. 
    As for putting on new vent covers, I did not want to loose the original 
appearance, not that you can really see the aluminum vent frame very good anyway 
unless the vent is open, but I liked the aluminum frame around the glass. Yes, 
I considered Fantastic Fan vents, but there were several issues with them that 
I chose to avoid. One was that the vent cover would crack in a few years then 
I'd be stuck replacing that. The fan in them works a lot quieter than the 
original  does, but then it would no longer be original. Plus I don't think a 
new one would last 30+ years. When the fan does go out though, then I will look 
at getting a Fantastic Fan vent. But until then I want to maintain the original 
appearance as much as possible.
I'm even leaving the battle scars from previous owners alone. The end caps on 
the end are dented from someone backing into a carport or limb. Got two separate 
stories on that one, but that's another part of the trailers many adventures.
    Oh by the way. On the Max Air covers. I have one on my mobile lube trailer 
and it's cracked after one year.
