Jerry,

In a word, terrible.  But if you want to tow in comfort, style, and with
enough power to climb any grade without dropping below 65, you can't
beat it.

We're just back from a weeklong trip, Monterey to Palm Springs, with
four adults, one dog, and 6500 pounds of trailer.  Our route was mostly
backroads and the Pacific Coast Highway, and we made an average of 9.2
mpg, about 80% of the miles towing.  On other mostly freeway trips, Las
Vegas and back for example, we've made 10.5 towing.  Solo we get about
14, acceptable only because we rarely use the truck except on towing
trips.
