Re: [A/S] Weight
We have a 1970 29 ft and I know when it is loaded it is over 7000 so I
load it so I have a hitch weight of around 800 pounds. That is just
around 12% and it works well without the over priced hitch. We use a
Reese with a friction sway control, and have for over 30 years with
various trailers.
Hitch weight is the reason it works.
3540 pounds is the DRY weight, now add all the water and gas plus your
rock collection. You must keep that weight on the hitch.
The only time we have had trouble with sway is when I forgot that rule
back around 1971 and it is now on my mind every time we pull out.
See you on the road
