[A/S] more projects

Well, we finished another small project to make our Stream more
comfortable for us. We took out the shelf over the closet rod and
raised the rod 9". We now have room for longer things like a few
dresses and couple pair of dress slacks that hang from the cuff instead
of folded over in half. The lost storage above the rod is actually in
the back of the closet on the floor now, except where the longer clothes
are hanging. There is in fact more space as the bottom of the closet
does not have the curve. So much easier than setting up a step stool to
reach things on the shelf.
It was really very easy to do once we figured out how it was fastened.
2 screws at each end, and several along the front and the back, and
voila, up it lifted and out it came. Well, it took a little wiggling,
jiggling, and maneuvering, but we took it out without marring or
breaking anything.

Now to find a way to replace the chest of drawers, adjacent to the
closet and near the foot of the bed with better storage.
We will probably only take out the drawers, and use the framework. The
drawers waste so much space and unusable space surrounding them inside
the framework.
Since the drawer fronts are matching oak like the rest of the cabinets,
we'll probably have to attach them to a wood panel door front.
Any better suggestions?
