     Hello Chris, I have often thought of this also. The original 
700 X 15 tires that came on older Airstreams where not trailer 
tires,but truck tires. Sometimes, I wonder if some of these 
specialty items, such as trailer tire, aren't just another way to 
get some more of our money. They tell us this and that about the 
difference between one and another and we should believe it to be 
the truth. I also go along with the overkill on using to stiff a 
tire ,especially a E rated tires and in some cases even a D. You are 
right about needing to have everything balanced out and set up 
right. I believe that this makes for safe and comfortable towing .
