I can't imagine how those little cars with the light transmissions could tow
very far or well.  Even the THM 400 in the P30 motorhomes was considered a
maintenance item by most owners.  And the 400 is a heavy duty trans with "no
inherent weaknesses" according to trans experts.
The transmission is almost always the weakest link. A weak engine just goes
slower, but a weak trans just fails.
