RE: [A/S] Cleaning sink & quilted drapes
Joanne,
I made quilted roman shades for a mobile home we once had. They were
based on the "window quilt" idea. I used a radiant barrier in the quilt
where one would usually place batting. The sandwich was decorator
fabric facing into the room, radiant barrier in the middle and neutral
heavy fabric that faced outside. They worked very well to hold out the
heat in summer and the cold in winter. If you didn't want the radiant
barrier, you could use already quilted fabric, usually both sides
coordinate.
Since we are very unhappy with the mini blinds and the flimsy drapes in
our '88, I have been seriously considering making "window quilts" for
the Airstream. I just haven't decided whether to use the large snaps on
the wall to attach them or Velcro, because the wide channel track for
the pinch pleat drapes is another factor we don't like. When I find the
perfect fabric it will happen.
