Joann,
I'm a quilter too and have thought about doing that in my A/S.  I think
Roman Shades would work well.
They're easy to make, there are instrictions on line even.
I actually replaced the large shade in the Bathroom with a quilted pannel
and the one over the kitchen sink too.
Actually I made all my drapes.....It's not hard. Go for it.!
