I've been lurking here, so thought I'd offer a response.

First, I have seen a tub restored with a product called "Tough as 
Tile" with pretty darn impressive results.  They offer it in a 
smaller sink-sized package, so it could be used there.  Essentially, 
it appears to be a fiberglass gel coat that you paint on.  No 
experience using it, though I have a package of it waiting for action.

Every set of drapes I have seen are pinch pleated, not quilted.  
However, I have seen trailers where there are removable solar shades 
behind the drapes, insulated with quilting.  The outer layer is that 
bubble mylar material--I finally found it for sale as yardage in Lee 
Valley Tool's garden catalogue, fwiw.  Line this with a backing of 
quilted material and it should be a good tool for managing interior 
heat (I've heard, though that they must be removed from front and 
back windows when moving).  

However, I do wonder how best to attach these shades.  Right now the 
lock-tite strips that hold up my speedpass (automatic toll thingy) up 
on my windshield appeals, since it doesn't melt in the heat (had a 
bad experience with velcro).  I just wonder if I can get the 
Speedpass folks to give me a handful of the little strips.
