Re: [A/S] Old vs New

Hi Allan.

I bought a '76 Sovreign, 31 feet, two years ago and it has served me
well. With any elderly trailer you are going to have things to
fix. That is part of the "charm"? Mine was,is, in good shape, but
still had things to be fixed. The brakes needed care. The self
contained water pump is on it's last legs, the antenna needed
servicing to keep it from leaking, the valves to the grey and black
water tanks were very stiff an finally broke off, the skin needs a
good polishing and there are a few little dings here and there. All
that said, a new set of tires put me on the road and we have had a
lot of fun. We need to polish and seal some of the seams before
September, but that's about it. The interior is very comfy, big
enough for two plus three medium sized dogs. I looked and looked
for something that size in a used trailer made by other companies
and saw a long long list of pretty sorry rigs before I snapped up
the AS. $7000 plus $3400 for an F250 Diesel Ford put me on the road
for A little over $10,000 and when we are not traveling in it it is
a fine cabin at the beach. Roomy enough to not even go stir crazy
when we were snow and iced in for two weeks last winter. That was
deffinitely the shiniest the old girl ever looked.
