[A/S] Old vs New

For those of you who feel (know?) that "old" Airstreams are better 
than new Airstreams I assume there is some basis in fact for that.  
So.......please tell us in what year the quality of materials and 
assembly started to decline.  In other words if I want to find 
an "old" trailer what year should I go back from?  Also, where did 
this decline first appear in kitchens, baths, beds, upholstry, etc, 
etc, etc.
