         Not so.  If the negative cable to the vehicle frame becomes 
disconnected, then the battery is disconnected (and, in my case, where the 
white wire is connected to the same point as the negative terminal, my 
controller would also be disconnected).  There is no way for the starting 
or other vehicle current to use my brake controller's ground wire as a path 
in any event.
