         Hunter, look it up in your manual.. in mine (1995), they give a 
voltage below which you should not operate the AC...don't remember exactly 
what it is, but it's surprisingly low; I *think* 106 is probably 
ok.  However, are you sure your plug-in meter is correct?  I've checked 
several, and they can read anywhere from 4 volts low to 4 volts high...best 
to use a multimeter, preferably a digital one.
