One place I had a leak on my 86 water tank was around  the threads at the
bottom where a large screw in plug goes. I removed it and resealed it. Then
where the short drain line goes out of the side of the tank to the drain
valve the barbed fitting had cracked. I replaced it and took care of both
leaks at one time. There is a square inspection plate on the bottom of the
belly pan you can remove to access both of these.
