I have not polished a trailer yet - but - when I read the words
"Scotchbrite" and "discs" in regards to working on an aluminum 
surface that is meant to be seen (no paint...just natural, polished or
clearcoated etc)...well my hair stood on end...

Assuming a person is simply working to prepare an undamaged
(in terms of the metal itself) aluminum surface for polishing - 
it's one thing to work on aluminum with a polisher/buffer...
but are the Scotchbrite products in "disc" form 
(i.e. turning in a circular motion at high speed)  now available in 
such a fine grade that they won't leave their "signature" behind?
