In the many miles of towing trailers both boat and the airstream Inever run 
hubcaos when I stop I normaly walk around the trailer and toutch the hubs if 
they are only slightly warm I know that eavery thing is fine.
The inner greease seals is something that I almost never replace if removed 
correctly they will not be damaged.But on that suite your self. I have never 
hat them leak grease onto the break linings.
