We, too leave our bed set up.  I bought a custom-cut mattress locally 
at a discount place.  They offered me a small choice of styles(more 
than I expected) and did it in less than a week.  Because there were 
no curves with a center bedroom, it came to $137.  It is very 
comfortable.  I would do it again anytime and am sorry I waited so 
long the first time
