Why would anyone go to Big Bend in the summer?  Do you realize how hot it is 
there? No thanks.
There are many more comfortable routes across the country.  You don't need 
to stay on one freeway.  You can choose between which part of each you want 
to use or better yet-get off the freeways and see the 'real America'  If you 
are really pressed for time you may need to use the freeways but there is so 
many interesting things to see on the "Blue Highways"those are the ones in 
blue ink on your maps.  Try to get State Highway maps from each state you 
may be going through.  They are available free from all state tourist 
places.  I have ordered them by mail before computers but now you can go on 
line and request them.  If you have access to a Trailer Life Campground book 
there is a list for all states.Also 800 phone numbers.

Have fun, smell the roses, visit the little towns that are true America
