Hello.  Being a vetran of the dog Show Circuit I have quite a bit of
experience with generator noise.  The quietest are made by Onan and I sort
of recall, it has been a few years now, they may produce more amps in the
smaller sizes.  I can't recall as we never got one because they were too
expensive.  They are more pricy, but well worth the lower decible range if
you have the $$$$$$.   It isn't just the noise, it is the decibels produced.
We seem to be able to tolerate more low decibels.  I agree, no generator is
"quiet", but some are more quiet than others.    Be sure to get a generator
that will do what you want it to do.  ie., provide the amps you need.  If
you are just providing spark for the gas heat and a fan on low setting that
is a lot different from wanting to run an air conditioner or a heater and a
hair dryer in the morning.  We compromised by carrying a Catalytic heater
and a small genertor. A small genertor will run a hair dryer or another
small high draw appliance, but not both.  That gives you some practical idea
of what you get for what you pay.  Remember, you also have to carry fuel for
the beasts and with many of the older ones (looking for used)  you had to
mix the oil and the gas.  We carried a little Honda to the dog shows and
used it for the hair dryer. (Essential when grooming a dog)  It also ran a
fan and a few other small appliances, but not at the same time.  Check what
the total amp load will be at any one time.  ie.  Add up everything you
might want to run at once.  Decide if you can run these things at different
times and be satisfied with a smaller generator.
