[A/S] Re: Cross Country
Patti,
Arkansas used to be terrible, but I drove it from Memphis west to
Little Rock and then south to Texarkana last year. That portion has
been repaved and is now a pleasure to drive. (BTW, I'm a Denver
native, but been FTing since '86). I always love the scene going
south over Raton Pass into NM. The mesas popping up in the vast
prairies. And of course coming north, the first sight of the Sangre
de Christos is awesome too. But, I digress - - - I-40 should be no
problem now. Two years ago, I would have said to avoid Arkasas due
to the really terrible road condition but if it is repaved west of
L.R. as it is east of there, it is a nice drive. And east of
Memphis is no problem either. Just watch the highway signs closely
as you go through Memphis. It can be confusing. Have a good trip,
Lew
