[A/S] Lansing - To go or Not to go?

My husband and I have been 'streaming for the last couple of years.  We
joined WBCCI, but have never participated in any events.  Now, that the
big event is coming close to us, I've been wondering whether we should
head over from Minnesota on our summer vacation.

Here's my question.  His idea of Airstream heaven is sitting around a
campfire in the evening with the dogs, smoking a cigar, drinking scotch
and talking with anyone who will listen and talk back.  I've heard how
everyone is daisychained together for power, etc.  Is there any room
for campfires at these events?  What if we are there a couple of days
and decide we need to head to the woods?  Can we unhook and get out
easily?  Do other people just come for a couple of days instead of the
whole time?  Are there different "personalities" to different units
within the WBCCI, so that it would make more sense to try to connect
with one unit or region more than another?  I assume pets are allowed
since I know Hunter wouldn't go anywhere without hers.  Does having
dogs preclude that you stay within one area or not?

Any thoughts?
