Ive been wrasslin with this issue for years!
We currently have a piece of plywood that allows the piece under the pad to 
slide out and sit on two milk crates then we put the bunting from the front 
couch to fill the void at the wall.
that's fine till the bunting moves and makes a crevice to fall in!

Am spending the next week at the rodeo in the trailer and tryuing to improve 
it today by adding a real mattress to the mix!
