Re: [A/S] 1971 Airstream

Hi All,

I disagree with the "spend mega bucks" theory on buying a new Airstream. I
think I can speak for both sides for having an 03 Safari and a 54 Flying
Cloud. Anyone who has an oldie can tell you that you don't buy one to save
money! It costs a fortune to fix one up if it needs body work, frame issues,
appliance repair/replace, air conditioning repair/replace, etc. I know cause
I put over $8,000 into my 67! You buy an oldie cause you love having one!
Those who can do their own work are lucky. I don't have the expertise or
machinery to do a lot of the work myself on the 54 so it's at the A/S plant
getting a facelift! While it's there I've been using the 03 and loving it! I
truly appreciate not having to do a thing to it and wallow in the luxury of
corian counters and surround sound! I don't think I spent a fortune on it
after bargining the price with several dealers.

I can't imagine parting with either one of them!
