Arnie et. al.,

If you are replacing a GFCI you MUST replace it with another GFCI.  If 
the breaker is the source of nuisance trips that will make the problem 
go away.  If the trailer is the problem you will know about it and set 
about troubleshooting by technology instead of death.  They are required 
for a reason and you can be sure that the victim's lawyer will know that 
and have little sympathy for you when presenting the fact to a jury, who 
will be similarly stingy in the sympathy department.

You are talking life safety here, not the place for creative repairs.

If you wish a brief description of how they work and why they are there 
give a shout.
