We travel full-time and I manage two webpages with my laptop and cell phone.  
One of the webpages has a large mailing list.  I have no problems whatsoever.

I use Verizon as my ISP - dial into their system and then either launch AOL 
or Internet Exlorer.  I use a StarTac phone with a 14,400 modem built in - slow 
but works pretty well.  I have nationwide service - no LD or roaming - and 
3,000 weekend minutes.  A plan they no longer offer, so I'm holding on to it!

My point is you don't need to find a McDonalds.  You can do everything at 
your convenience right from your rig.  Hunter also uses Verizon but a different 
setup.  She can tell you about that.
