The big reason I'm considering the change is this will be the LAST 
truck I buy! If I'm going to retire soon I need to have something that 
will last a long time and I've got the $ for it now, won't after 
retiring! I've been led to believe that a diesel engine will last 
longer than gas (?) I'm planning on keeping it long enough to justify 
the expense of a diesel engine.

Just got back from a Chevy truck dealer and looked at a Silverado 
2500HD, Duramax/Allison combo with crewcab and long bed. It was an LT 
model with all the trimmings cause I'm hooked on the On Star feature. 
It was white and I want the new silver that matches my A/S perfectly or 
I might have bought it on the spot! Much quieter than I thought. I'M SO 
TEMPTED!
